Recently I photographed a couple who had not had their photo taken since their wedding engagement years ago. Their children had been asking them to get new photographs done and it was such a pleasure for me to be their photographer. We had the session at Christopher Columbus Park in Tucson, AZ. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful sunset.
A couple weekends ago, I went with a family to Catalina State Park in North Tucson to do their portraits. The weather was beautiful and the family was great to work with. The children loved getting their pictures taken and were excited to be hiking all over the park. We hiked up a trail that followed the ridge of a mountain. There were spectacular views and great desert scenery.
At the end of July, I photographed a quinceañera (15th birthday celebration) for a family friend. It was a beautiful event which included a mass and reception. The event was held in Phoenix, AZ. The birthday girl, Alyssa, was beautiful in a flowing gold ball gown and tiara. Below are some images from the days events.
In April, I was asked to photograph the band Parmalee at Country Thunder in Florence, Arizona. After a full day of following the band around the campsites and photographing them perform on stage, the band did an interview with Country Weekly Magazine. Several of my photos from the event were used in the article that came out in this weeks Country Weekly.
After photographing the band Parmalee at SXSW, I was asked to join them at Country Thunder in Florence, Arizona and document their day and performance at the festival. I was so excited to work with these guys again. They are a lot of fun and such gentlemen. The festival was more like an all-day party with live country music. After doing several interviews, the band decided to take a couple golf carts and go into the many campgrounds located at the festival. They interacted with their fans and toured the huge festival site. Their performance was late in the afternoon on the main stage. They played several of their songs and really got the large crowd going. After their performance, the band went into the food-vendor part of the festival and tried a variety of the snacks offered there. It was a packed day and I just tried to keep up with them.
This past week I was asked to go to SXSW to photograph behind the scenes of the ROAR clothing fashion party. The party was Tuesday night at the Lustre Pearl in Austin. Headlining the party was the band Parmalee and DJ Irie. Also, there was a live photoshoot during the party with models wearing the ROAR label. The party was a huge success with a line to attend. I had a great time and met so many amazing people. The band Parmalee was especially entertaining and I was able to get several great photographs of their soundcheck and performance.
Last weekend was a busy shooting weekend. After photographing Tristan at the Frog Pond and Jane in the snow, I was asked by two fellow classmates and friends to photograph an engagement shoot they were doing. They needed stills and video for a promotional video they are making for their upcoming studio and business. We all headed to a park in Concord, MA and the photographers got to work.
